People power produces another imago win.

imago, the conferencing brand of Loughborough University, has taken its first award at its regional premier business awards.

The multi award winning venue was announced winner of the Success Through People category of The Leicestershire Business Awards 2009, which looks to reward and recognise significant business improvement and success through effective and efficient development of people.

This award has particular resonance for imago which strongly advocates that a successful customer experience is driven by a skilled and valued team. The venue invests heavily in training and development for all employees at all levels within the business and it has even established its own Sales Academy. A practice which has borne remarkable results for the business, including improved customer relationships that have produced a consistent repeat business rate of 70%.

Now in their 16th year, The Leicestershire Business Awards 2009 are highly coveted. Over 100 businesses entered the seven award categories and 600 attended the gala dinner where each of the awards was announced. The Success Through People award is imago's fifth award this year. The venue has also won recognition for best practice for Disabled Services, Business Tourism and Customer Satisfaction.
