imago picks up a silver addition to the trophy cabinet


imago, the conferencing brand at Loughborough University, has scooped Silver, winning national recognition for business tourism at the finals of the Enjoy England Excellence Awards 2009.

The venue took Gold at the regional stage of the award last Autumn so won its place at the national showcase and a chance to shine the spotlight on its success. With a turnover of £10 million from its three venues, 90,000 domestic and international delegates walked through its doors in 2008 and repeat business figures stand at 70%. Over 130 local individuals are directly employed to deliver its services and £200,000 is invested annually with local providers. The annual Enjoy England Excellence Awards recognise outstanding tourism organisations for their commitment to offering customers a high quality experience. Launched in 2003, imago unifies Loughborough University's conference and catering activities under a distinctive brand, collectively offering outstanding meeting venues and accommodation, award-winning food, and the most extensive sport and leisure facilities in the UK, and in marketing these services imago promotes its reputation for the best hospitality around the world. In fact, 2009 is looking to be a winning year for imago as this is its fourth award since January alone.
