imago’s record winning streak is showing no sign of abating in 2010, with a quadruple of awards already taking pride of place in the company’s trophy cabinet and another two (fingers crossed) on the way.

The imago portfolio consists of three leading venues all based at Loughborough University and most recently its first-class international conference centre imago at Burleigh Court picked up the Gold award for Best UK Conference Centre and Silver for Best Conference and Banqueting Staff at the Meetings & Incentive Travel (M&IT) Awards at the end of February. In its 23rd year, the M&IT Awards are an industry respected mark of excellence, as the only programme where winners are decided by votes and feedback from customers. In addition, imago’s versatile day conference centre imago at Holywell Park recently picked up ‘Gold’ for customer service for meetings and events in the VenueVerdict Standard awards; whilst imago at Burleigh Court also picked up Gold for ‘Excellent Social Responsibility’ in the Hotel Excellence Awards 2010.

Kay England, chief executive of imago, comments: “2009 was a record year for us in terms of award wins and we are delighted that 2010 has kicked off with a similar stance. All of the above awards are testament to our dedication to deliver a first rate service to all our customers, regardless of the size of their meeting or event. The M&IT Awards are particularly valuable to us as these were voted for by our customers, so we are sincerely thankful for all their support in helping us achieve these two fantastic accolades.

“The Hotel Excellence Awards recognised our best practice in the area of social responsibility and highlighted the recent work we have put into making our business more sustainable, particularly in our environmental issues. We are also therefore very proud to be recognised as a national leader in that field.”

Holywell Park achieved the VenueVerdict Gold Standard award for a consistently high level of customer service delivered for meetings and events throughout the course of 2009, becoming only one of 17 venues nationally to be given a VenueVerdict Gold Standard award. Qualifying venues are those that achieve in excess of 80 points over the year and achieve the required threshold levels of feedback. The Excellent Social Responsibility category at the Hotel Excellence Awards 2010 for which imago at Burleigh Court won Gold is a national competition sponsored by the Best Practice Forum, British Hospitality, the Institute of Hospitality and the Meetings Industry Association. The awards act as a quality benchmark for the hotel industry aiming to give UK hotels recognition for excellent business practice. The team at imago is also hoping that its current winning streak continues as it awaits news from two other award ceremonies, namely the Leicestershire Business Awards and as a finalist in the Enjoy England in the Access for All category.
