Corporate and Social Responsibility
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Loughborough University, imago recognise the importance of the role it plays in the University's overall Corporate and Social Responsibility (CRS) strategy. Below are examples of some of the initiatives that imago is actively engaged in as part of its CRS strategy.
Working in partnership with the University's WEDC Institute, imago's raindrops for life campaign is helping to fund projects in the Dhar District of India. The aim of the project is to help improve the health and wellbeing of some of the world's poorest people, by offering fresh, clean water and sanitation.
imago, in partnership with the National Forest Spring Water Company Ltd is donating 5p each for every bottle of fuel, imago and refresh water sold across the campus.
imago is Fairtrade accredited and uses Fairtrade products across all of its services. By using Fairtrade, imago is helping to ensure better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.
imago is committed to raising food standards by taking part in the Food for the Brain accreditation. The aim of Food for the Brain is to promote awareness of the link between learning, behaviour, mental health and nutrition. imago therefore provides food that is high in essential fats such as omega 3 and 6, high in vitamins and minerals, free from unnecessary additives and colourings and low in sugar.
Loughborough University Campus became the first English academic organisation to be awarded with the Food for Brain accreditation in November 2007.
imago's operations are committed to sourcing food and drink from local suppliers. The focus is on providing excellent food and ingredients that are seasonal and locally sourced, supporting regional producers and reducing food miles.
